The Musketeers Annual Club Congress

Every year Musketeers holds a club chess congress in November at the Shurdington Social Centre.  The emphasis is on friendly competition.  The children play 6 games of chess during the day (5 for those at secondary school) using 'Swiss' rules.  This means that those that win their games play children that also won, and vice versa, so that everyone finds themselves meeting opponents of their level.  There are individual prizes of trophies, certificates, and Amazon vouchers.

The congress is also a Schools' competition.  The 4 highest scoring children from a school count towards their school's score.  The winning schools take home a giant chess set and the coveted Musketeers School Shield.
